Getting product price from data feed
1) Project Details: (be as specific as possible):
I would like some direction on how to get started on my project. Based on user input that includes:retailer (Best Buy, Macy's, Old Navy, etc), URL of a product, product name, and zip code I would like a script that will retrieve the total price a user will have to pay for that product, inclusive of taxes and shipping (that will be determined via the zip code).
The stores that users enter products from are large retailers (Best Buy, Old Navy, Macy's, etc). Instead of writing a script to manually go into each separate retailer's site to find total price with tax/shipping, I was thinking it might be easier to write a crawler script that uses a comparison shopping engine (like froogle.com) where the search terms are the inputs the user gives for retailer, product name, and zip code. This is just an idea and doesn't necessarily have to be implemented this way, as there probably is a better method.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance!
