    Need comments on returning visits rates for All-in-one Search Engine : Googlebye.com.

    Hi guys:

    This site ( Googlebye.com ) is mainly a Search Engine with results coming from Google, Bing and Yahoo. It can also be used as a SEO ranking checking tool.

    The idea behind this site comes from that I don’t like searching many times on different search engines.

    After much hard promotion, I got some traffic to this site. However the returning visits rates keeps a low level of 20%. That means most visitors won’t come back.

    I’m quite confused about it so I get to here for your valuable comments like:
    Where should I improve for this site ?
    Do you feel any obstacles when using it ?
    Do you think this type of sites could be a alternate when searching ?
    ......
    Of course welcome comments not limited to above

    Sincerely.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi guys:

    These days I’v made some improvement including:
    * Added results from Duckduckgo. Now 4 engines included: Google, Bing, Yahoo and Duckduckgo;
    * Turning pages of results;
    * Shortcuts of Scrolling to Top and Scrolling to Next Page;
    * Search box fixed when scrolling.

    Sincerely welcome your dropping in and your comments no matter good or bad.

    I can see two reasons why I wouldn't use it in preference to Google:

    - there's no autocomplete/autosearch on search terms
    - more fundamentally, the results are less easy to read because they're in columns. The duplication of information detracts rather than adds, and for both Bing and Yahoo the boxes have horizontal scrolls as well.

    So for a basic search engine I think it's less usable because of the multiple results.

    I can see this is helpful if you're trying to compare different search engines, but I would have thought this is an infrequent need for most.

    For what it does, it works very well, mind.
    Use the W3C HTML Validator and CSS Validator to check your code and Firebug to see what css is applied to an element

    I don't recommend much, but I do recommend Clook for UK web hosting

    Hi Duke,

    I think your website might have been a good idea if google weren't what is it now.

    I honestly can't remember the last time I used yahoo or bing for a search.

    As SB said, I would only use such a website to compare different SERPs

    My first thought of this site is that it won't work in every resolution. I mean it works, but it just doesn't look good on big screens. Also needs to be updated to work on mobile phones, right now when you resize it the information gets all jumbled. I would recommend making the design fluent to the resolution of the user. Functionality wise, the site works great and could potentially be a great site.
