    in-progress site review

    hi all,

i'm just about done with my first website for a client (probably my last, too. i don't like the professional side of web design.) i was wondering if i could get some feedback?

a disclaimer: the colors, logo and font were theirs from the start, which i could not change.

and another: you'll notice all the "examples" galleries are empty, and the front page images are blanks. that's because i'm a photographer as well and i'm taking all those images this week.

    thanks!

The only issue I could find with it is that with javascript disabled on the contact page, it doesn't appear to do any sort of input validation. You really should have server side validation even if you have it on the client side.

I really love that design! It's simple, and you can find your way around, It's all there, and after only glancing at your site, I know what you provide and offer. Simple design, it's really nice.

    Technical:
    - Wow! No HTML or CSS errors! (You hardly ever see no CSS errors)
    - Great use of JS
    - Good coding styles
    - IMO, external links should open in target="blank"

    Design:
    - Nice design
    - Good graphics

This site has less problems than any site I've reviewed in a LONG time. Looks excellent!!

can't use target, is xhtml strict, but can simulate this using:

    Code:
    <a href="url" onclick="window.open(url); return false;">....</a>
when js is enabled works like target attribute but unfortunately when is disabled have no solution.

you must try few times before giveup,
You are good and is pity to giveup. You can also learn php or other server side scripting if you want, is not such a big deal, .

this is the logo, is to big, 80k.

you can't change it, I understand that, but you can reduce it's size.

meta keyword is bloated, description is to short, I guess you don't have a keyword target.

    regards

They complain when you do good, complain when you do bad?

It's such a simple page. I generally don't like the fixed-width design. I think it should float. But then there's always the long lines of text.

You could punch up at least the contrast on the buttons, and still preserve the scheme. It looks like you designed for IE, which is something I used to do (in the long, long ago). Because your CONTACT button wraps around in FF and Opera (not that anyone uses Opera), it pushes the middle div off to the right, throwing off your general fixed-sized box.

For the script, some might recommend your equality be strict (triple equal) and the incr and decr operators be replaced with "+=" and "-=", like that.

Other than that, it's such a simple page. There's really not much on which to comment.
