    Site Review

I've just finished a freelance site for myself that I'm looking to tweak.

I would love it if I could receive some feedback from you guys.

    Thanks!

I guess you will have a lot more response when you put this question in the appropriate forum

My guess is they will first tell you to make your homepage validate

Clean cut and organized...two things I always look for in a web site. Very nice on that part. Your logo looks cool. Your text needs to have a little more padding between it and the pic of the dude. And you might want to have a link to the "Contact" page from the other pages (e.g. on the Website Development page, say, "If you're interested in website development from Jason Boothman, please click here to contact me" or something like that). That will create more continuity through your pages. Looks great! Good luck.

I would also consider justifying the text, making it all look nice and neat... just for perfection
"write it for FireFox then hack it for IE."

Thanks for all the comments so far...I will be looking into all of them!

Funny thing is the site will be changing soon b/c I am turning it into a business. The overall look and feel shouldn't change too much though.

Will post when I've had a chance to work on it more.

I'm going to pick on you a bit..

If you're going to offer desktop publishing, I advise having someone read your site's content and do spell-checking and put apostrophes where they're needed. Since I work in the publishing field, this is a sore point with me. So many sites... so many typos... make yourself stand out by taking an extra step to check your text. It's that little extra that separates the pros from the wanna-bes.

Okay, now on to the good stuff... I like the site's appearance; it's clean and easy to navigate. The colors are good and I like the illustration.

Keep ads to a minimum, especially the blinkers and flashers. Avoid any that look like strobe-lights because they're cheap-looking and It's hard to read a page on-screen when there's flashing on the page.

The ad you have is good, but maybe move it to the bottom of the page so it's clear that it isn't part of your offerings.
