    Issues migrating

    Hi,

Im currently using your script and love it!.

I'm in the process of moving servers, and am having some trouble on the new server. I have copied the files over exactly as they were on the old server, I have installed everything necessary (FFMPEG, php-ffmpeg, all the codecs etc) and am having problems getting it to work with exactly the same setup as the old server.

It downloads the flv fine but just gets stuck on the converting page. I have tried running the ffmpeg convert command manually on the command line as the apache user which works fine, so it isn't a permissions issue. It just seems like the script is never actually executing the conversion command.

The only thing I have noticed that is strange is the ffmpeg_progress.php script is being posted to around 20-30 times a second when this happens and never stops.

It's almost as if the exec_ffmpeg.php script is never being called?

The only logs in error log are just the php notices:
    Code:
PHP Notice: ob_end_flush(): failed to delete and flush buffer. No buffer to delete or flush in /var/www/vubey.com/YouTubeToMp3Converter.class.php on line 118
PHP Notice: ob_flush(): failed to flush buffer. No buffer to flush in /var/www/vubey.com/YouTubeToMp3Converter.class.php on line 119
If you could help out that would be great, if I've missed anything let me know.

    Thanks in Advance,
    Alex.

    Hi,

Given what you are describing, and if cURL and the PHP cURL extension are working correctly on your server, then I'd guess that exec_ffmpeg.php IS being executed, but you are having some problem passing session data to exec_ffmpeg.php.

Try removing everything except the exec() command in exec_ffmpeg.php (inserting the command directly from POST) and see if your conversions start working. If they do, then you'll need to troubleshoot your PHP installation and any php.ini directives related to session handling.

Are you getting FFmpeg log files in the 'logs' directory during failed conversions?

What are the specs for your new server? What version of PHP are you running?

Are you using the latest versions of the free or commercial software?

    Have you reviewed the FAQ?

Do let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

    Thanks!
    Regards, R.J.

    Hi,
I am interested in this software, can this software be modified so that when a client wants the raw mp4 version of a file it gets directly downloaded to their computer without going through the server where the script is hosted?? this is very useful in saving bandwidth and also avoiding IP ban by the video sites.
    thanks

Yes, you could do this. The [commercial version of the] software collects the video download URLs into an array before the video download actually commences on your server. So you could dump the contents of this array, get your direct download links, and then disable any further downloading/converting on your server. Doing this would require some coding savvy, but it's not that difficult of a customization to perform if you have the ability (from a technical standpoint). Of course, it would take some time to do, but everything takes time...

FYI, the array of download links will look something like this, when you request a mp4 download using the default software (i.e., for this video):

    Code:
    Array
    (
        [0] => Array
            (

Each array within the larger array represents a direct download link and tells you:

    • video file type
    • quality (hd, hq, sd, ld -- which corresponds to high definition, high quality, standard definition, and low quality, respectively)
    • the link itself

Note: I think the links expire after awhile, and are tied to a specific session, so none of these example links may work for you now or for long.

Also note: The reason why you see more than just MP4 file types in there is because, when a user requests a given file type version of a video using my default software, and there is no video available of that file type, then FFmpeg is used to convert whatever file type is available to the requested file type. So the end user gets what he/she wants, regardless of whether or not the file type is actually available from the video hosting site.

Hope it helps! Do let me know if you have any additional questions/concerns.

    Thanks!

    Hey,

I purchased your script a few days a go and love it! Everything has been going fine up until about an hour ago. Every youtube link i try the script returns the error "Error downloading video!"

I have tested different lniks and also tried them on another website using your script and they are giving out the same error too.

Has youtube maybe changed something within the last hour or so?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I can verify that something is wrong with downloads of encrypted YouTube videos.

I am investigating the problem, and I will post here again ASAP with more information regarding a fix.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Edit: I can confirm that YouTube has changed the way signature decryption algorithms are revealed in the HTML5 video player. Rest assured, I am working on it, and I will update you again when I know more. Thanks!

    The problem has been resolved.

At this point, you can do one of two things:

    1) Manually delete software.xml on your server and let the file automatically regenerate, OR
    2) Wait (at most) 30 minutes to an hour for software.xml to automatically update to the latest version of decryption code algorithms

    Hello,

Excuse me i'm french, so i hope you'll understand me...

At first, i have to say thank you, your work is nice.
I'm working on a big french movie database, and i use, after work your script and add snippets, and this script give me the possibility to download all the trailer i need.
Trailers are not the property of youtube, so i can do it easily.
    I add many problems :
    - the first was to download the beqst quality : resolve ! I did an array for each download, i clean and sort this array, and so downlaod the best.
    - he second was the "stereo3d=1". Youtube created a 3D stream for some videos.
Since a few days, all the videos are "stereo3d", and so youtube let the small quality without 3d.

Now, they moved in html5, no quality is say in the url, i'm working too to find a solution anywhere.

    But really, thx ;-)

    Hi,

You're right, I am having some difficulty understanding your english...

Let me try to paraphrase what I think you said: "Some YouTube download URLs used to have a stereo3d parameter in the query string. When this parameter was set to 1, a 3D stream of the video was available. But recently, this parameter is no longer found in any YouTube video download URLs -- because ALL videos now have 3d streams."

Is that right? If so, how do you know that ALL YouTube videos have 3d streams now? And if all videos have 3d streams, why is this parameter still necessary?

That said, it appears that the YouTube API can tell you whether a video is available in 3d: https://developers.google.com/youtub...eos#properties

contentDetails.dimension string Indicates whether the video is available in 3D or in 2D.
    Regards, R.J.

Yeah, you understood me, thx for best efforts !
(i should read, listen and speak english, more and more and more and....)

I'm not sure that all vids are with stereo3d, however, i noticed in this example : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdZuyp6DpnI (a 4 days old video), this parameter is always there, but not for small quality as i said.

And thx for the developer lonk, i didn't read since a long time.

Hello, first of all I hope you understand something about my bad English but unfortunately I'm Italian. However I have a problem with the file YouTubeToMp3Converter.class.php. I can not understand why I studied only html and css, I thought that the problem was the file software.xml but after I delete the error persists... I hope for a fast reply, thanks ^^
Here is a screen of the problem:
