Sure, I understand what you mean. But, again, please provide example video URLs that exhibit this specific behavior. As I said earlier, I am not having any trouble downloading VEVO videos on the demo site: http://www.musicvideo2mp3.com/index.php. Are you quite sure that this behavior is not limited to your particular server? In what country is your server located?

    New version!

    Hello everyone,

I have just finished updating the paid-for version of my software. New in this version:

    1. Added video cropping functionality to existing MP3 audio-only cropping tool -- with live preview of video while you are cropping!
    2. Only file types supported by the jPlayer in-browser media player can be cropped. This includes most common media file types. A notable exception is 3GP.
    3. Cropping can be enabled/disabled for any given file type by editing the array of converted file types in Config.class.php
    4. Selected cropping times are now displayed by the cropping tool, to facilitate more accurate cropping of converted files.
    5. WebM and F4V (Adobe Flash video) have been added as converted file types. The FLV file type has been removed (and replaced with F4V).
    6. The MP3 ID3 meta data editor now pre-populates the "Title" field with the video hosting site's video title -- and does so ONLY IF the converted MP3 does not already contain "Title" meta data.
    7. Radio buttons used to select converted file type on the front-page conversion form have been replaced with a more accommodating drop down menu. The new menu creates a better interface for the end user when/if more converted file types are added to Config.class.php.
    8. Various (minor) bug fixes and refactoring of code

IMPORTANT NOTE TO USERS OF THE LINUX VERSION ONLY:

Functionality added in this release now requires that you use a recent, static build of FFmpeg instead of whatever (older?) version of FFMpeg you are currently using. Please watch this video to learn more and to find out how to update your server's FFmpeg binary accordingly: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1a...l-part-3_music. Those who do not update their FFmpeg risk having the software not work as expected!!

Extensive modifications were made to the software in this release
. So many, in fact, that I have included a 'reports' directory in this ZIP distribution to clearly identify which code has changed since the previous version. Each report shows a side-by-side, graphic comparison of the previous and current versions of a given file.

    The following files were changed/added:

    1. css/styles.css** updated
    2. css/jquery.ui.selectmenu.css new
    3. css/images/cropping_bg.png new
    4. css/images/loading.gif new
    5. css/images/qm.png new
    6. js/jquery.ui.selectmenu.js new
    7. langs/us.xml** updated
      • Clear sessions/cookies in your browser to see new language file changes.

    8. .htaccess** updated
    9. Config.class.php** updated
    10. edit.php** updated
    11. ffmpeg_edit.php** updated
    12. index.php** updated

** See corresponding report in 'reports' directory in attached ZIP file for line-by-line illustration of code changes

If you create a new language file for the software, please donate the file to the code base so that others can benefit from your translations! Simply send me a copy of your updated index.xml file as well as your new *.xml translation file, and I will add it to the software in a future release!

All previous customers who have purchased the paid-for version of my app are receiving this new, updated version via the e-mail addresses that you provided at Tradebit.com.

Please report any issues with either the paid-for version or the free version in this forum thread. Your feedback is encouraged. Donations are welcome!

    Thanks!

    Hi, thanks for the feedback!

What was the error that you received in the Apache error log, for future reference (and for possible, future inclusion in the FAQ)?

Thank YOU for this great code..

    Apache log was:

"Warning: file_get_contents(): Unable to find the wrapper "https" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP? in C:\\wamp\\www\\VideoToMp3Converter\\YouTubeToMp3Converter.class.php on line 85, referer: http://localhost/VideoToMp3Converter/index.php"

The only other way that I know of is to use a Java solution that requires the end user to run a Java applet on their local machine. Then the conversion is performed on the client computer via Java code and some media conversion mechanism (like FFmpeg) that is integrated with the program. This transfers the conversion process from the server to the client. However, running/using Java can be confusing for users, and many users will not permit Java to run if it is launched from what they consider to be insecure sites. In fact, by default, Java won't run when launched from the browser unless you add URL exceptions to the Java control panel or lower the security level of Java (as a whole) on your computer.'

If you are having trouble with conversion, please see the FAQ. Also ensure that your hosting plan/server has enough CPU processing power to handle concurrent FFmpeg conversions. A VPS or Dedicated server is ideal.
    Regards, R.J.

Unfortunately, if I troubleshoot and work directly on your server, then I have to do this for everyone who needs support for my software. That is a precedent that I don't want to set, and thus doing so is not included in the free support for my software. Hopefully, you can understand why.

That said, I am available via this forum, Facebook, and Skype to answer any questions and/or address any concerns that you have, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That is what's included in the free support.

If you still want me to work directly on your server, then please contact me via PM (or privately) to discuss how much I would charge for this service.

Thank you for your understanding. Please let me know if you have any additional questions/concerns!

Edit: Have you actually tried any of the troubleshooting tips in the FAQ? I encourage you to not only read the FAQ, but also employ some of the troubleshooting methods described. Thanks!

    New version!

    Hello everyone,

I have just finished updating the paid-for version of my software. New in this version:

    1. Further reduces server load by providing users with a conversion "cancel" button that aborts ongoing conversions and subsequently kills unnecessary FFmpeg processes. The cancel button is embedded in the download/conversion progress bars.
    2. Additional error checking in index.php to reduce client/server load of AJAX polling required to create the conversion progress bar
    3. Brand-new, modern design for the download and conversion progress bars. Also, added "pressed-in" design effect for active buttons in the top navigation menu.
    4. Fixed "loading" box that sometimes loads for a long time when cropping large F4V videos on the post-conversion editing screen. Added an "X" close button to the loading dialogue for users who don't want to wait for video to fully load before cropping.
    5. When software is embedded in an iframe, clicks outside of the iframe now close the file type drop down menu.
    6. Added more error handling to the decryption code (software.xml) auto-updating mechanism, to prevent possible issues during the updating process.
    7. Various "anti-leeching" controls implemented that:

      • Prevent another site from embedding your site's conversion form in an iframe
      • Prevent another site from submitting your site's conversion form (via POST request) remotely
      • Prevent another site from pointing their DNS to your web server, thereby loading your site using a different domain name. (Yes, this has actually happened.) This requires you to edit the list of authorized domains in the $_authorizedDomains array in Config.class.php.

    8. Added Hindi language support to languages drop down menu
    9. Various (minor) bug fixes and refactoring of code

Extensive modifications were made to the software in this release
. So many, in fact, that I have included a 'reports' directory in this ZIP distribution to clearly identify which code has changed since the previous version. Each report shows a side-by-side, graphic comparison of the previous and current versions of a given file.

    2. css/images/cancel_btn.png new
    3. inc/static_page_header.php** updated
    4. langs/** updated
      • Replace the contents of the existing 'langs' directory with the 'langs' directory files in this new version!
      • Clear sessions/cookies in your browser to see the new languages.

    5. .htaccess** updated
    6. Config.class.php** updated
    7. edit.php** updated
    8. exec_ffmpeg.php** updated
    9. ffmpeg_edit.php** updated
    10. ffmpeg_stop.php new

Hi, the script absolutely does work on shared hosting if you have the required package dependencies installed and the server is properly configured.

Please see the software requirements here.
