How to convert all the video format to .flv?

    Hi,

The major technical problem i m facing now is "how to convert the video format to flv when user try to upload any types of video format" (if not all, at least those popular format like .avi, .mpeg, .mov, .wmv...)

I am plan to use PHP, then second choice will be ASP/.NET...

    I m doing reserch on http://www.wimpyplayer.com
    Any others idea?

    Thanks

you would need to pass the file to a converter (the only one I know of is ffmpeg though I do not know if it does .flv) which with PHP would be via the exec() function... this requires that ffmpeg (or whatever converter(s) you use) be installed on the server.
    resistance is...

MVC is the current buzz in web application architectures. It comes from event-driven desktop application design and doesn't fit into web application design very well. But luckily nobody really knows what MVC means, so we can call our presentation layer separation mechanism MVC and move on. (Rasmus Lerdorf)
