    Testers Wanted

    gleelk.coconia.net/fileman

    Hi

I would like some people to test a php program in development. All information is on the index page. http://gleelk.coconia.net/fileman

The program is a file manager. It has alot of bugs at the moment but i would like to find out exactly what from people testing.

Just the bare bones of the program. Templates will be designed after development completed.

    Program: GE FIle Manager
    Location: http://gleelk.coconia.net/fileman
    Development: Alpha 1
    Bugs: LOTS
Features: Login (will eventually be multi-user), Upload Files (Download soon!), Delete files, (move, rename, edit in development), Make Folder, Delete Folder (change folder coming soon), Folder Permissions, File Upload Permissions.

I'd be happy to offer an exchange of testing services. I'm about to release a Beta of an online-gaming oriented web application. I'd bang on your site in exchange for the same. What do you think?

    when I deleted a folder:
    Code:
    test
Warning: unlink(test): Is a directory in /home/www/gleelk.coconia.net/fileman/users.php on line 232
    I can't delet .. or . they probably shouldn't even be showing:
    Code:
    .
Warning: unlink(.): Is a directory in /home/www/gleelk.coconia.net/fileman/users.php on line 232
    ..
Warning: unlink(..): Is a directory in /home/www/gleelk.coconia.net/fileman/users.php on line 232
directories are listed as 'File' for the File Type.

I don't find it user friendly.

File size should be in kilobytes/megabytes etc

the file permissions don't list out correctly and an end user doesn't want to know what 755/666/600 is (unless that will be your user group).
uploading files shouldn't be crammed at the bottom.

you could use something like this for the files on the bottom:
    http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?t=65390

there is probably more i could think of.

who is your target audience for this ?

well, i just checked users.php and clicked rename and it renamed it to testrename.txt therefore the users.php is no longer accessible and the php coding can be accessed

Sorry for not keeping with the community spirit. I'll post errors I find once the site's back up.

Maybe you all can help me test when I go to beta

the target audience is websites looking to allow their users to upload and manage their files. Maybe for example an mp3 website for storing music, or a company maybe wanting to offer file management to their clients. Could be adapted to fit into a control panel with other options. In the future of course.
