PHP MYSQL what else do i need for a database?

I would like to setup a database for my website that holds information the users upload. My site is hosted via yahoo and they have a MYSQL/PHP setup you can buy. My question is, do I also need to purchase Oracle, or Access or is MYSQL the database?

    Sorry for my beginners question

Best advice - move to a proper host. Yahoo is great if you're new to web building, but if you're wanting to use serverside languages, move to a better host which has php and mysql already in the package.

Mysql is the database - which is free, you shouldn't have to pay for it.

The only reason in which you may have to pay for it is the time it takes them to set it up.

But as said before, MySQL is the one you want, but move to a better host. A good one I find is www.blacksun.ca. It's cheap as well.

Or just go somewhere with PHP5 and use SQLite.
