    Affiliationally Error

    Hey everyone!

    I am at my wits end. I run a couple of fansites and have used affiliationally on all of them before. Now, in the middle of putting up a new one, something with affiliationally doesn't work.

    I installed it, no database error or nothing. I log in, I want to start adding main categories and ... it doesn't work. As in, after I hit "add" I just get a blank page in return.

    Here's a screencap: http://oi43.tinypic.com/sxdseh.jpg

    Going back, it tells me that no category was added and everything is OK, except for the fact that, well, I can't add anything. It is the newest version from early 2013 and, as I mentioned, I've never had that problem before.

    Could I have forgotten to CHMOD something or ... what else can it be? Any idea?

    a) You need to debug what exactly is occurring. Blank php pages are usually due to a fatal php parse or runtime error or code that simply doesn't output anything. What does the 'view source' of the blank page in your browser show? What does adding the following two lines, immediately after the first opening <?php tag show -
    Code:
    ini_set("display_errors", "1");
    error_reporting(-1);
    b) If this is a purchased or an encrypted script, you need to get help from the author. They usually have their own help forum.

    c) If this is an open-source script, you will need to post a link to the author's web site/download page in order to get help from a general php help forum like this one.
    If you are learning PHP, developing PHP code, or debugging PHP code, do yourself a favor and check your web server log for errors and/or turn on full PHP error reporting in php.ini or in a .htaccess file to get PHP to help you.

    First off - thanks for the reply!

    It is, indeed, an open source script and it used to be that you could contact the author via an Email adress. That address, however, no longer works. She has updated the script in June 2013 so they worked with the newer PHP and MySQL versions.

    Here's the link: http://inspirationally.net/?affiliationally

    I'll now check what I can gather from adding that little bit of code and using view source *nods* Will get back to you ASAP.

    Thank you!

    OK, just using "view source" gives me nothing but this:

    <h1>add categories</h1>
    Which seems hella-weird to me all things considered.

    Am now trying to figure out in which php file I should add the little bit of code ... damn, sorry for being so much trouble.
