send a sms text message via php mail
When sending text massages using php mail function, is it possible to alter the sender address? It works fine when sending. an email. Even withing the same message however when receiving a text message the sender is the name of the servers the message originated on. Is this done by the cell phone provide? If so, is there any work around? or even a service company out there allowing you to use your domain to send sms text messages therefore you can receive messages as the individual replies. I know you can probably do this through google voice but I would rather do something personalized to each domain.

I can't say 100%, but I'm going to guess no. When you send a text via email, you're not actually sending a text. You're sending an email to the service provider, who takes that email, processes it to figure out who you wanted to send the text to, then they send the text. Unless they have an API or functions to allow you to change who its coming from, I doubt it. And given how easy it is to spoof emails, i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't allow you to change who the text is coming from, for security measures.
