You need to explain a little more.

However based on a hunch I assume you want to send an email address with anchor tag. In this case you have 2 options.
    Option 1:
    Code:
    <a href="url?email=emailaddress">...</a>
and then use $_GET to read it.

Option 2 is based on javascript. Bind the click on your link and define a function to add email address for you.

These were based on a hunch as you have not explained clearly.
If it is something different give more details and possibly your code so we can check.

    Thanks

    Sorry I wasn't more specific:

I send an html email to clients. Inside the email is a hyper link like this: http://www.mysitename.com

When client opens the email, if they click that link, it should take them to my site (as the example above show).

I need to someway write the email address from which the site visit came from to a txt file on my site, or in other words, the email address of the email the link was clicked from.

Does this make sense? I hope so. Right now the link does take them to my site, however I don't know how to code in the link to capture their email address.

Thanks so much for you help.!!!

If I understand, you are trying to track what client has clicked the link in the email.

Perhaps adding the the client id (you should have them in a db table where you are storing the email addresses) to the link ie
    mysite.com?id=client_id_from_table
then on your site page check $_GET for the presence of the id

I can add the ID as you suggest. How do I code the $_Get for the presence of the ID?

As you can tell, I'm really new at this so I appreciate your patience and help...
