    Contact form question.......

Hi all. I am fairly new to php, but can create my own contact forms with validation, and can also save the info to a file, but ........... I found a site called "mycontactform.com" that my friend uses. The nice thing about the site is that you can create custom forms easily, set them up to forward to any email addresses, auto replies, keeps records of submissions, and set up with an interface to view submissions from any and all sites you created, etc.
There is a yearly premium youcan pay to remove advertisements, etc.

It appears to be a very nice setup, My question is... is anyone familiar with this site, or can they recommend another one? It looks like a very hand tool. I am just wondering if it is just another website that is acquiring email addresses and selling them? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Buffmin.

Thank you. It seems similar to the one that I was referring to. I was just wondering if you all think that these are a good (fairly safe) alternative, or should they be avoided? Of course they do not mention that they "sell emails" and such. I just do not want to risk having customers getting added to email lists. Do you think they are safe to use? Just not sure if I should do it. Thanks, Buffmin.

Its all about how you process them. Any kind of form is unsafe, but it's what you do with the information that counts.

If you put a virgin form into your database, then give out your username and password to the world.

But if you do things such as mysql_real_escape_string() and others, it will help prevent any misuse. Making your DB much safer. Also consider using a captcha.

Thank you very much myfayt. Got it. Captcha will be the way to go too! Sincerely, Buffmin
