    Exclamation Joomla! add newsletter

    http://demo.joomlaplates.net/jp_poke...tpage&Itemid=1

Would it be possible to add the following to the template website above?

    - "Subscribe to newsletter" where the "Login Form" is located (including setting up a database where names and e-mail addresses are stored and preferably also a way to unsubscribe)

I figure it must be a php-scripting done to it

Also, please have a look at the thread below and see if it would be a possible task...

Joomla is similar to Drupal. You don't really add newsletters (or any other components) to a template. The template is just that: a template - a style, a layout. Newsletters, for example, would probably be added on to the base system through add-on modules (I think Joomla calls them "extensions").

I'll give an analogous example from Drupal, with which I'm more familiar. The steps should be similar for Joomla. An existing newsletter module would be downloaded, added to the base system, enabled and configured. If it includes a subscription block by default, it could be enabled and placed in the desired sidebar location. Otherwise, one could be built fairly easily. And that's all.

Joomla is far enough advanced that its steps may be just as easy. I've wanted to play with Joomla for a while, but always keep coming back to Drupal because it's so easy to do what I want now that I understand it.

Ok, that sounds really cool. I have been trying to read about it but I have so limited time. Thanks for the input!

I figure that it is not that much work to do with the whole project that I am about to set up then. Do you and/or anyone else mind reading the whole other thread where I have set up some guide lines for it. My guess for a budget would be like $100-$200, is that enough you think?

    Cheers,
    William
