Can Someone Help ME With My Membership Script Please?

    Alright Guys

I am wondering if anyone out there can help with my MEMBERSHIP SCRIPT Please?

I am having a few problems trying to understanding/finding out how certain bits of the actual structure of the script works......

I.e there is a loop function on it that allows me when I add a product to the marketplace (shopping cart) that all products have the same layout on the page...

But for the life of me I can not tell where it is.. This script has about 10 different css pages, and then other pages link to each other, etc..

If I gave you the script to download can someone take a few minutes/hours to help me please.... I be most grateful

    Ta Byron

You might want to consider posting this in the paid work offers forum. We are here to help with simple questions, not entire scripts. If you can't do on your own hire a pro.

    Byron,
You seem to want "free" programming help, but from what I've determined with
our previous emails, is that you are not willing to give that helpful programmer
the FTP account information for your website(s). Any programmer that is willing
to help you should be able to go into ALL of your files (and MySQL) and look around.

    That programmer needs to:
    1) Learn how your script works, because they probably haven't seen it before.
    2) Be able to insert code for testing and experimenting (display variable values).
    3) Be able to use the SQL Admin for checking values.
    4) Be able to specifically show you where you need to "get at" the scripts you want.

No programmer is going to spend that much free time, just shooting in the dark ...

You're going to have to extend some "trust" to someone you don't know.
If you are not willing to do that, then sorry man, you're on your own.

I'm not trying to be rude or condescending, but we're just regular people here that
have other full-time jobs and families ... our time is valuable.
I don't know how else to say it.

It is obvious to me that you can not read.. If so you would not have said any of the above....

I have said that I will allow you to download the script and put it on your own test server.. Of course I am not going to give some one access to my own server.. Are you mad???

I'm not mad, that's how it works. I do it all the time, and I have probably
100 FTP account log-ins. There is such a thing as "ethics" when it comes
    to programming.

For me to put your script on my own server ...

    1) I'll need to use-up one of my MySQL accounts.
    2) I'm downloading and installing a script I didn't pay for ("see ethics above").
    3) Not all servers are configured the same ... different PHP revs, different SQL revs.
    4) It's me spending unnecessary time to install it ... when it's not necessary.
    5) Programmers like me, are lazy. I want to do the most with the least amount of effort.
efficiency, cost, time ... that's the name of the game.

It's just a website Byron ... our lives don't depend on it.
The script you're using -- they have an online forum, and online help. You'll have to use that.

    EDIT:
And for anyone else following this thread ...
You can create a temporary FTP account log-in to give to your programmer (or whoever is helping you).
After the job is complete, you delete that FTP account. It's really not a big deal.
You have to remember that your site is only secure as your webhost, and their servers.
Am I out-of-line on this one? I don't think so. I'm lazy ... make it easy for me to help you.

Yet again you are wrong.. It is not just a website.. It is a business.. Hence it is a membership site, and not a normal website...

All you have to do is install the script, it will create its own database.. So it reckonise if you have made any changes to your own mysql databases...

I have been there with some one else ages ago where I gave them temporary access to one of my hosting accounts, etc, and they clompletely wrecked it for me...

I AM NOT TAKING THAT CHANCE AGAIN! IF YOU DONT LIKE IT THEN STOP WASTING MY TIME, BY REPLYING BACK! SIMPLE AS THAT

I think i Must agree with Mr. mlseim for this case no one ready to waste her/his time just to shooting a dark and fit it. oh no...

many people think someone will be come to solve and fix their case without any respect and good attitude, without any consider and pay attention or at least amount of effort..

Some one said It is a business, but what business you talk about if you don't able to pay attention with some else who willy to help you?

notwithstanding sometimes all not about money but i think... at least of blaa...blaa...

Byron didn't tell me (originally) that he had a bad experience with a programmer.
I only found that out in post #7 ...
Knowing that, might have led me down a different path.

Also, each one of us might have a different webhost and different servers ...
Some scripts might work on one server, but not another. That compounds the
difficulty in helping others. That's why I'm not willing to install the script.

So in defense to him, I understand where he might be nervous about giving access.
I just feel that anyone that wants help can view any of our previous posts and get
a good idea of the forum member's integrity. It wasn't my intention for this thread
to go down in flames, but a lot of people view CodingForums, and I just want them
to know that we are just regular people, participating in an online forum.

    Sir Jones

No one is asking you to fix in the dark.. When HAVE I ever said that? You need to read the post before you can make a comment

Byronwells please be respectful when posting, there is no reason to yell at anyone or be rude, especially when you are asking for help.

It sounds like the script is working but you just don't understand how parts of it work? If that is the case, either post the chunk of PHP code you aren't sure about and we can explain it. Or if you have a specific question about how the script works, contacting the script author might be the best route since they would know the answer.

Digging around in a collection of PHP scripts to fully understand what they all do can be very time consuming and as mlseim said, the members here are helping people out of the kindness in their hearts. That is why people are reluctant to do it.

You never specified where you got the script or the name of it, if you at least provided that, it would give people a better idea of what you are dealing with.
