Access DB using PHP on RH Linux 7

Hey, everyone. I am extremly new to PHP.

My website is hosted on a RH Linux box and my account doesn't allow MySQL databases. I would like to try to use an Access DB, but I cannot find any documentation on how to do this on a Linux system. (although plenty are available for Win servers)

Can anyone point me to a tutorial or resource where I might be able to find this information? I have done searches on the various search engines and through the PHP manual, but have not found anything that deals with this particular configuration.

    Thanks in advance!

sorry but you wont be able to use MSaccess on linux (there are some hosts who offer this but the access DB is on a different machine (via an ODBC to ODBC bridge) and I doubt your host provides this. (and If they did I would say drop them quick)

Check out if your host has any database , PostgreSQL or Interbase may be available, else I would suggest find another host, MySQL is pretty much standard on all shared PHP hosting , even free accounts usually have MySQL!
    resistance is...

MVC is the current buzz in web application architectures. It comes from event-driven desktop application design and doesn't fit into web application design very well. But luckily nobody really knows what MVC means, so we can call our presentation layer separation mechanism MVC and move on. (Rasmus Lerdorf)
