    Datavase Connection Error

    I just lunched my site online (it was previously on my local server) and I got the following error:
    Could not connect to MySQL: Access denied for user 'XXXXX'@'modemcableXXXXXXX.X.XXXXX.ca' (using password: YES)
    Any idea what this means? I doubled checked I am passing the correct
    username/password/host/database.

    That means you don't have privilege to login. Ensure that the username, password, server, and port are correct for connection and try again. If there is still a problem, it is possible your user does not exist or that the user set is for local access only (which is not overly likely).

    Oh, one more thing to check. If your connection is mysql v. 5+ and your connection is mysql (not mysqli) then you may need to enable OLD_PASSWORDS for the connection to be recognized by the mysql server.
    PHP Code:
    header('HTTP/1.1 420 Enhance Your Calm');
    Been gone for a few months, and haven't programmed in that long of a time. Meh, I'll wing it ;)

    username/password/host is checked first, usualy you got this message if the password is incorrect and this is a mysql message.
    you must see somehow if the user exists and the password is valid in mysql, you probably can use cpanel, some shell.
    for database you got another kind of error message.

    best regards
