    Thumbs up Inexpensive Matured Coder for Hire

    X/HTML - 5 years
    CSS - 3 years
    PHP - 4.5 Years
    PHP5 - 2 Years
    MySQl - 4 Years
    Photoshop - 1 Year
    Javascript - ~1 Year
    (C#, C++ - ~2 Years)

    Familiar with several php frameworks.

    Can interpret several languages:
    C# VB/.NET Perl Python C/++ Java
    If conversion required, though not an expert some of those listed. I have spent a year or two using other languages (such as c#, c++) but i am not looking to take on any c# or desktop projects at the moment.

    I am not looking for a full-time position at the moment, I have two-three months of free time that I am looking to fill, which translates as I'll probably be quite cheap.

    I don’t have to work per hour but $15 - $30/hour (depending on work load), as i work quite quickly for small projects where a per hour payment scheme would be best, you will find payments being quite low.

    I have spent most of my coding time working on personal projects and contributing to the open-source community in my spare time, thus my "portfolio" is limited and owing to this i will often offer lower prices than most people, and potentially provide better solutions.

    I work in PHP5, though i will use PHP4 if needs must, i write professional fully Object-Oriented code using design patterns as they fit, phpdoc block commenting as standard, user-friendly documentation written if required (though may be extra $ depending on the time it takes to write).

    If i am hired for a standard CMS/Forum/Blog type project i will request use of a php framework such as CakePHP which is licensed to allow commercial use without restriction (so there need not be any worry). However i have developed and designed complete sites coding 100% myself, i can provide an example of such on request.

    I currently live in the north of England so i assume for almost all purposes i will working at home, thus i accept paypal transfers as payment.

    Potential Issues:
    You should not hire me for design-only projects: i am not a graphics designer. That said i can provide reasonably designed pages, though do not expect the flashy vector finish of sites who hire professional designers.

    I may be reluctant to take on a "large" project, as I am only one person and currently have no need for large sums of money, projects requiring teams of people should be given to teams of people. However you can pm/email me to see if i would be interested - i WILL join a team, if that is the offer.

    Do you have a portfolio that we can look at?

    I have primarily been parts of teams, or acted in a consultant-like fashion. Whilst also providing the solutions i write for people to the open source community, if the employer allows it. I *have* built one or two complete websites, one client was a dating software provider who has been out-of-business for a month or so. It would be easier to provide examples of code i have written. I do have one small complete blog-type website that i wrote quickly and for free which i could provide the source of, or upload a working example. The client is currently in the process of acquiring hosting and a domain name, amongst other things.

    The "problem" is that due to my previous roles my portfolio is limited in terms of complete sites and the time i have free at the moment (2/3 months) does not allow me to build one up...

    Work request (iframe loading GIF)

    Hello - I would like to display the attached file 'ajax-loader.gif' while the iframe on http://www.cvenanglais.com/acheter.html is being called up. I own www.cvenanglais.com and I have used a forms solution provider, Logiforms, but they are unable to help me include this GIF which I view as essential from a usability standpoint to tell customers 'relax, the page is loading'.

    I can pay you upfront by PayPal assuming this is only a small job (i.e. around an hour's work)

    I attach the GIF and the page code for www.cvenanglais.com/acheter.html. I can be emailed at ventes@cvenanglais.com.

    Cheers
    Patrick
