    Coder/Designer for Hire

    Hello!
I'm a student (currently on summer break, going into 12th grade) and I am in need of some work. I would be doing an internship with a small tech startup in my area, but they recently changed projects and are no longer in need of my help. I am experienced in:
    HTML - about 8 years
    CSS - about 4 years
    PHP - about 3 years
    MySQL - about 3 years
Java - 2 years, including 2 courses (Intro to CS and AP CS)
    Photoshop - about 4 years
    Dreamweaver - about 3 years
PHPBB - worked with on and off for about 2 years

and a few other languages/programs. I really need to build up a solid portfolio, so I will be willing to work for competitive rates. My current portfolio includes:
    http://pixel-tech.net - my current website
http://chazz.pixel-tech.net - a website I designed for a classmate of mine who played trumpet at the Grammies
http://pixel-tech.net/mvcc - a website using a similar template as the one above, mostly an experiment for a club I run at my school
http://skateboulder.com - a webpage for a rollerblading club in Boulder Colorado
I have also constructed, in PHP and MySQL, a bulletin board system, a shopping cart, a simple CSS, and a few other custom, yet commonly used apps. I also have experience in graphic design with Adobe Photoshop and will, in fact, be taking a course in it this summer (it won't hinder any work I may be doing though).

So, thank you for your consideration, and you can contact me at: lobsterninja@gmail.com

Do you charge on an hourly basis or on a project by project basis? If hourly what are you rates?

I think a by project basis is a more solid way for me to do it. I usually work at different parts of the day so it's hard to judge exactly how much time it takes (not to say I'm slow, I just have a different work pattern.)

Do you worry about web standards, such as valid (x)HTML/CSS, as well as no tables for page layout unless displaying data? Can you tell us how much experience you've had in the languages you can code in?

Ahh you make me feel like I forgot so much
Yes, I follow web standards as much as I can, and I only use tables for what they were designed for (displaying data). As for experience:
    PHP/MySQL - about 3 years
    HTML - about 8 years
    CSS - about 4 years
Java - 2 years, including 2 courses (Intro to CS and AP CS)
    Photoshop - about 4 years

Bumping this, as I'd rather do that than make a whole new thread.
