Virtual Directory on IIS 5 Sever (XP PRO)

I am setting up my Windows XP Pro laptop to do some web design work. I set up the IIS 5 web server. I created some virtual directories so I can store my files in my document directory instead of wwwroot folder. I did the same thing on my desktop. I have a wireless network. I share the web folder on my desktop with my laptop. I can see and change files that directory from my laptop. I want to set that directory as a virtual directory from my laptop. When I go through the wizard it does not allow me to select that directory. How can I set that up.

So you want add a virtual directory on your desktop that points to a folder on your laptop?

If so, create a virtual directory and then go to the properties, on the first tab there should be three options boxes, one is "A share located on another computer" and if you select that, you can enter in the path to the share on your laptop.

The problem I'm having is whem I browse to that directory the "ok" button is grayed out. It will not allow me to select the folder. I maped the desktop drive on my laptop so i do have access to that drive. I can look in it and change stuff. I was able to type in the location of the folder but I get a red error sign next to the virtual drive.

Let me explain further. This is what i want to do. I have a desktop running xp pro and IIS 5 web server. I have a separate drive in it that i store all my web pages. I created a virtual drive in my web server that points to this drive. Now the tricky part. My desktop and laptop are connected via wireless network, 802.11g. What i want to do is be able to configure dreamweaver on my laptop to access the files on my desktop's drive. I already can see the directory in my laptop. I mapped it as well.

When I work on my desktop to access the webpages via IE i type in http://localhost/storix/ "storix" being the name of the virtual drive. Also when I want to access MYSQL I type http://localhost/phpMyAdmin/index.php. Now how would I be able to access that url from my laptop? Is there some sort of IP address I can type in? Because when I type localhost on my laptop I get the files on that conputer, which is understandable.
