Windows Script Host capability question
I would like to create a script that opens a proprietary software program and navigates to the particular area of the program that I want users to see when they log in. I would like to place this script to run when the user logs on. Will Windows Script Host allow me to do this, or is it used strictly for manipulating the Windows operating system itself?

AFAIK you cant do this without active-x components etc , a workaround is LaunchinIE (google for that) a .dll that has to be installed on the users system (you could include it with your app) , that gives executable rights to named host/address's , you could then use WSH to startup the app.
MVC is the current buzz in web application architectures. It comes from event-driven desktop application design and doesn't fit into web application design very well. But luckily nobody really knows what MVC means, so we can call our presentation layer separation mechanism MVC and move on. (Rasmus Lerdorf)
