Need help w/ MySQL Workbench or phpMyAdmin via remote connection to HostGator

    Hi!

Does anybody know how to configure either MySQL Workbench or phpMyAdmin to use with HostGator?

I can connect with Workbench but cannot see the database. And even trying a configuration with phpMyAdmin just yields a failed connection.

I'm trying to do such since they don't upgrade phpMyadmin on shared servers. They're still on a 3 release when its up to 4.

I'd be forever in your debt if you could show me how this is done!

    Thanks in advance!

    Dave

It might be because the user you're connecting with does not have the permissions to view those tables. You'll need to verify the permissions of the username@host, where username is obviously the name of the user you're using and host is the domain you're connecting from. Either your IP address or something else.

    Stupid firewall.

On HostGator they make you whitelist the ip from the remote client. It's still so slow getting the resources for just one database.
