    MMORPG Development

    Good day,

I am currently looking for an individual, or group of individuals, who are interested in working on an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game). My prior partner, who was the coder, had to resign from the project due to life circumstances and left the game without a coder. Since that time, I have found a new partner, who is not a coder, and would like to get the coding back on track.

Currently, we have a server for the RPG and a Forum. The game is in the closed beta stage, but there is still a lot to be coded. We are also deciding whether it is best to continue building off the structure in place or for the new coder(s) to create a fresh system, which will be discussed.

The MMORGP was originally going to be a text-based, browser-based game. However, the system has evolved over time and we have geared away from a text-based system. We now use icons/images in place of text links and are highly reliant on artwork. To date, we have accumulated over 1,000 pieces of artwork.

Here is some background information on the game:
FairyWing-RPG is a browser-based MMORPG based on the anime/manga Fairy Tail. We are not following Fairy Tail’s plot but instead have our own storyline and open world which gives us flexibility over features and updates to the game’s content.

We pride ourselves on the PVE (Player Vs. Experience) and PVP (Player Vs. Player) systems we have created, which include the Storyline System; Battle System; Quests; Guilds; Shops; Equipment; Weapons; Items; Spells; Element System; Interactive NPCs (Non-Playable Characters); Smart AIs; and a massive Map/World with interactive locations such as Towns, Villages, Buildings, Caves, Dungeons, etc. among other features.

All system have been outlined and the calculations have been completed. All that is missing is a coder to create/implement them into the game.

The coder(s) should be proficient in HTML, HTML5, PHP, MySQL, CSS, and JavaScript with knowledge in AJAX and jQuery.

In terms of payment, PayPal or check would be the easiest way. Other ways/payments can also be discussed. I believe it would be best to discuss each system and come up with a reasonable price and timeline for each one. As this is a rather large project, I expect it to take several months to a year (minimum) before the game becomes open to the public. The timeline may take longer depending on the coder(s), so the estimated maximum timeline would be two years.

You can contact me via PM on this forum, email at J_Sinanan@live.com or jsinanan@fairywing-rpg.com, or on the game’s forum at http://www.fairywing-rpg.com/forums/forum.php where my user name is Rylumin.

If you wish to view the RPG, you may do so here: http://www.fairywing-rpg.com/
Registration is currently locked, but you can learn more about the game on the forum if interested. The link to the forum was posted prior.

    Regards,
    Rylumin

FairyWing-RPG is owned by Magi-Tech Studios, LLC.

This will take a minimum of 18 months to build and nobody who is an expert coder is going to touch this project for under $10,000. Keep that in mind. You can never overestimate this project.

I understand it will be costly. I've already spent quite a bit of money to get this far, and I plan to see the project through.

That's great. There are so many projects for games posted on here that say "We can't pay right now" or "You will be paid when the game is finished and we're making money".

Because if you trust your programmers, it's worth it to get a bank loan and get them paid.

As long as you have a good structure ad a good team, the sky's the limit.

I do have a good team established, which I'm very thankful for.

And I agree that maybe people post about projects but are unable to finance them from the start. I read through several of the threads and see the pattern. Whenever someone takes on a request for me however, I make sure financing is in place beforehand.

You have to be willing to make an investment in the beginning.
