    Popup search box

    I'm trying to do the following. I have a page with a form. I want to be able to have a "find it" button next to a textbox that will pop up a second window that will have a list of items retrieved from a mysql table. When the user selects the items he wants, it must put the relevant value into the text box on the first page.

    The problem I'm having is how to transfer the data across pages to the text box. I do not have a lot of javascript experience, so any help would be kindly appreciated.

    Use opener to reference the parent window from a popup.

    opener.document.formname.elementname.value="some value";

    If this post contains any code, I may or may not have tested it. It's probably just example code, so no getting knickers in a bunch over a typo, OK? If it doesn't have basic error checking in it, such as object detection or checking if objects are null before using them, put that in there. I'm giving examples, not typing up your whole app for you. You run code at your own risk.
