    finding errors in javascript

    Good Morning, everyone:

I have a bunch of javascript snipplets, eMAL stuff, counters, and certainly menu controls.
Of Course, they don't work, or don't work like they were told to, ( rotten, babbly mouthed, High-IQ snobs!!!!)
I've passed some code through a couple of very simple "sniffers" and they may tell me of an error at "Character 28" and when I take my pencil and scratch out 28 characters on my monitor.... I find myself somewhere there isn't an error, and sometime where there isn't even code. BAH!
So! Is there a debugger for Javascript similar to the debuggers provided with all sorts of other programming languages?
If there is.. please point me at it.

    Many thanks
    Paul

Mozilla Firefox has a built in Javascript console that's really handy for debugging as it lists the error messages with links.

When you click on an error link it will take you to the exact place in the code where it has detected the error, removing the need for you count lines and characters to try and find it.

This feature can be found under the 'Tools' menu.

    Download.com

Check out this program on CNET's download.com called html kit. It's been awhile since I used it but I think it also debugs html, php, and javascript

    It's pretty handy!
