Ha, do try to actually read the thread before using that kind of language.

that's not how it reads ... "I kept an exam" sounds like you're doing one. it's not me who's the fool, since you can't even type in the correct English. yes, it may not be your first language, but it is for most on here and consequently we'll read your post how it has been typed in.

furthermore, what you want to do obviously hasn't been thought out. you really don't want to rely on JS to do anything. after all, how does the user do the exam if they have no Js support. you want the exam to work regardless. so what you're really after is serverside validation. I guess that being so clever you already knew that and were just testing us fools, of course.

i did, and it read like he was trying to cheat in an exam. "i kept an exam" sounds like pidgin english for "i'm doing an exam", to me. hence the sarcasm...

Calm down a bit, there is no need for sarcasm. No one is judging you, and there is no point in being defensive. Just, relax.

Apart from the fact that his intention was not really correct, and his wording was completely unnecessary, jbot unwillingly pointed out a problem I do have with this thread.

I have noticed that quite some people seem to think this is the "provide me a script for free" forum, making no effort at all to at least try to find the solution and blatantly expecting someone else will write a script for them. This clearly shows by the way they post sometimes.
please give me the script a simple one for this......pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Sure, he said "please", but hey.

I don't really know if this is the case here, and even whether I want to make a big deal out of this, but it's just a feeling I seem to have. Somehow it really refrains me from helping sometimes. Is it just me?

    snow...

There are two approaches to this problem.

    1. Reply to the thread, informing the poster that their thread was poorly worded, and suggesting alternatives that are mostly ignored.

    2. Realize that is it in fact, your own prerogative to read the thread, and not an obligation to shift through some unintelligable mass of English.

After over 7 years at WSAbstract, JavascriptKit, and now CodingForums, I take the latter approach. I don't reply to poorly worded threads unless my duties as a moderator require me to. If the poster wonders why no one replies, they can either try again at another forum where they will achieve a similar result, or they can look around and see that it was because of how they asked their question, and adjust their post next time around.

no, it's not just you. hence my recourse to sardonic responses. requesting a script for an exam suggests that you're actually undertaking an online exam in JS and would rather someone gave you the answer rather than work it out for oneself. that's how I read the OP's thread.

apologies for the sarcasm, but "kept" could be misconstrued as "have" given something was probably lost in translation.

    Fair comments, jkd.

I actually took this thread as an example for this - as I said, I don't know if it applies here and I am frankly not prepared to judge about that either. It's just a feeling I was having lately, and I saw a good chance of posting about it. But yes, if the question disturbs you in some way, it might indeed be better to not answer at all...

I'm glad some people seem to know where I am coming from, though.
