    Question hide url from status bar effectively ? simply but 100% hidden

    Dear friend in programming world, (respectful enough ?hee hee )

    I want to hide my link url from status bar, how to do it ? I have tried many way, to hide the url (just for trying out purposes), but yes, it is hide, but when you hold down the click button (1st time when the page is loaded), you will find out that the url will be display on the status bar. But after you "back" and hold down the link again, the url will no longer be shown. anyway to make the link not display on status bar totally ? any simple but effective way ?

    this is the simple code that i used, but not good enough.
    <A HREF="http://home.zion.org.tw"
    onMouseOver="status='status bar being turned off'; return true;"
    onMouseOut="status=''; return true;"

    thanks.

    No there's no way.

    Even what you're doing now wouldn't work for many people - Firefox allows you to prevent scripts writing to the status bar, and Opera just silently ignores anything like that.

    Why do you want to the hide the URL anyway? Don't you think people like to know where a link is going to lead before clicking it?
