    Using js with ssi?

    Is there any way to use a "standard" javascript format to make an ssi directive load into a regular html page?

    For example, if a perlscript instruction says to include this on an SSI page:

    Code:
    <!--#exec cgi="cgi-bin/scriptname.cgi" -->
    can I take that and simply "insert" it into a js to make it work? (rather than renaming the page to the .shtml extension, or using .htaccess for parsing)

    I'm pretty sure the answer to my question is "no", but hope springs eternal, so thanks for any feedback...

    Darn!

    Thanks Crake and Philip -- you confirmed what I already suspected. I can go the htaccess route, but was hoping for an "easier" solution. Of course it rarely works out that way... oh well!
