How to open a swf file by clicking a button in HTML page

Lets say I have a HTML page with a button "Help" and when i click the "Help" button, a swf file will be opened.

So, what should be done to open a swf file by clicking the button in a HTML page?

I'd think calling the Play() method on an embedded swf control... here's a link to some info: Using JavaScript with Flash Player

    Alternative solution:

    <a href="help.swf" target="_blank">Help</a>

If the browser has no flash plugin, the Save dialog is invoked.

I have traied with this <a href="help.swf" target="_blank">Help</a>, but the problem is the swf file is opened in the browser.

So, if i want only the swf file to be opened not in a browser, what should be done?
