    Exclamation Form:compounding values/changing int. rates. Switch?

    I've been fortunate enough to have been assisted in the past through the "work offers and request" forum by Basscyst, who actually developed my calculator for me. While I'd be thrilled to work with Basscyst again, he appears to be incommunicato for the last day or so, and I'm desparate for this fix.

    Here's my form:
    <FORM name=f1>

    As per my instruction and through no fault of his own, the script Adam developed for me deals with straight formula of ((priciple * interest rate) * TOTAL number of days debt outstanding)/365. For example:
    a principle of 1000 from April 14, 1997 (actually 2,829 days from 1/11/05) calculated at a rate (built into the function calc as var intrates) of 7.5% would yeild $581.30.

    What I NEED for it to do is to calculate and compound this way:
    (((principle * interest rate) * number of days debt outstanding IN 1997 (261))/365) THEN
    use the number THAT returns as the (((new principle * 1998 interest rate) * number of days debt outstanding in 1998(365)/365) THEN
    use the number THAT returns as the (((new principle * 1998 interest rate) *
    number of days debt outstanding in 1999(365)/365) for each successive year thereafter until present day, so for today, for instance the new principle would be multiplied by this year's interest rate (again, already built into the script as a variable) * (11 days outstanding in 2005)/365.

    THIS is the final product I NEED TO REACH, and I need to reach it by week's end (1/14/05). I don't care to show a running total of each successive year's interest calculation, I just need the end result in my "subtotal" field on my form. Can it be done? A bit complicated? Or is it really simple? If there is anyone out there willing to help me on this, I beg you, please contact me. I will provide any additional information necessary.

    Thank you all.

    Smile Update!

    I actually have recently been in touch with my original calculator developer, "Basscyst". Thank you all, but I think he's got this one covered.

    I do appreciate the interest in this thread, though. Thanks everyone!
