    Question Internet Explorer Search Sidebar

    I got a favelet off of the web that opens the left search bar in Internet Explorer. I'm using it to load pages into the search bar that have links to many different search engines. Below is an example.

    http://www.freepgs.com/clipart/sidebar/index.html

    Here is the favelet i am using in a link.

    <a href="javascript:void(_search=open('http://www.freepgs.com/clipart/sidebar/index.htm','_search'));">
    [Souped Up Sidebar]</a>

    I'm using Windows 2000 Pro and Internet Explorer 6.0

    This application works great in windows 2000 Pro. But I had a friend check it with Windows XP. If you go to any sites with the search bar open and my pages loaded into it the links on the page you visited will no longer work.

    Does Anyone know of a favelet that would accomplish the same task but work with Windows XP?

    By the way I'm not proficient with Javascript.

    Doesn't work for me either using IE6 SP1

    For one, you need to allow "Allow sub-frames to navigate across domains"

    Besides, this would seem to be a security issue ripe for exploit...
    Such as opening the _search frame, loading your keypress capturing site into it and immediately moving it 1000px off screen....

    Bad juju, very bad juju;

    Thanks for the info

    Thanks for the info. I'll just use it for my own use then. I would probably need a ton of data transfer to make it available to others.
