    specify a different char set

    I have a php script that shows the result of query to LDAP server. This result doesn't view correctly in "ISO-8859-1", but yes in "UTF-8". Then I change this line:

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">

    for this line:

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">

    But it doesn't work.

    Then I've thought to change the charset with Javascript doing "document.charSet='utf-8'" but it doesn't work, too.

    Do you know another way to do this?

    Thanks a lot fos advanced.

    The <meta http-equiv...> format means you are trying to override/supplement/replace a standard http header field with another one embedded within the html. If you can write the proper http header field in the first place there's no need for the "equiv". I suggest you ask in the PHP forum, they should be able to get you on the right path,
