    You all must be knowing tree view in JavaScript (see attachment). Its preety simple to select single node. I want the functionality of selecting multiple nodes, when a user clicks multiple nodes while holding down the Ctrl or Shift keys.

    In dont want the checkboxex (see attachment) which give the multiselect option. Is there any way i can accomplish this without check boxex.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Amit

    It would be alot easier if you could post or link to the actual script in action. There are many tree scripts out there, and having to find one or make one that looks and functions like you want it to would be alot harder then simply modifying something you give us.

    "selecting" as in "changing class of the clicked item to distinguish it from the other items" is easy:
    <li onclick="this.className=this.className=='selected'?'':'selected'">
    (of course in the real-life I would attach the event handling dynamically)

    The question is: how do you plan to deal with the data?
