    Best/Most Efficient Flash Detection Script

    Hey All,

I have a site with a flash header. If the user doesn't have flash, I just want to display an image instead.

I've searched the forum and it seems that other detection scripts redirect to a different page, rather than a different piece of code. Are there any alternatives? I want to keep the same index page.

Use the OBJECT tag for your Flash, if the end user doesn't have Flash installed (say someone like me ), after they pass by the noxious message asking if they want to download and install Flash (something I have to put up with on the order of dozens a time per day -- Flash advertisements ought to be illegal!! ) the content between the <object> and the </object> tags should be rendered instead of the flash object. That can be a static image or whatever you feel should be there instead.
