    Javascript Menu & Flash problem

    Hi,

    I’m currently working on a site that incorporates a JavaScript menu as a primary means of navigation. My problem is when I embed a flash document beneath the pop down menu the menu options become hidden by the flash document. Is there any possible way I can make the JavaScript menu appear on top of the flash document? I think possibly something to do with a layers issue?
    I have setup a link to demonstrate my problem http://www.sthildas.gidjet.com
    Any suggestions that may help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

    There's two possible solutions.

    For win/ie5.5 only, you can use the "iframe shim" to make DHTML go above any windowed control, include <select>, flash and other objects - see http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...threadid=28261

    For other browsers, and this method also works in win/ie, you can do this:

    1 - the <object> or <embed> must be positioned so that it can have a z-index - then set the z-index lower than your layer.

    2 - enable wmode transparency using a <param> inside your <object>:

    <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />

    or the wmode attribute of <embed> - wmode="transparent"

    See http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...ents/wmode.htm for more info - I know it works in IE, mozilla and Safari, but i don't know about Opera - the docs don't say.
