Passing data from a list to form fields

Using Dreamweaver CS3 - Newbie - I have a user request that wants to be able to enter a Client ID field in a Web form field and then click on a button beside that field that will create a pop-up list of clients and their various plans. The user wants to be able to click on a row in that list and transfer the data to the Web form prior to submitting the form.. Wondering if this can be done in Dreamweaver using Javascript? Appreciate some direction or example to see. Thanks in advance for any help

It can certainly be done in JavaScript. But whatever you do *NEVER* let Nightmare Stalker (that thing that is laughingly called Dream Weaver by some) write JavaScript code *FOR* you. Drunk Walker produces some of the WORST and MOST OBSOLETE JavaScript code on the planet.

    Important question: You said
...enter a Client ID field in a Web form field and then click on a button beside that field that will create a pop-up list of clients...
Is the list of clients that will appear *DEPENDENT* on WHAT Client ID is entered? That is, if the user enters an ID for "Walmart" does that mean that all the Walmart stores will appear? Or is the list the same for all clients? Yes, it makes a huge difference.

Oh, and what server-side technology are you using with Doofus Whacker? PHP or ASP or what?
