Site slow to begin loading on phone, then fine.

    Hi

I've been playing around with js and localStorage for the last few days to get my site to load faster on mobile networks (it loads fine on desktops).

I noticed that once it starts loading, it load pretty fast, but it sometimes takes over 20 secs to begin loading after you enter the url, whereas sites like Facebook, news sites etc begin to load after only 1-2 seconds.

What can cause this initial lag, and how can it be overcome?

    Cheers

If the problem affects your site alone then the problem is that your code is too weighty for the mobile browser to digest.

All the code given in this post has been tested and is intended to address the question asked.
Unless stated otherwise it is not just a demonstration.

I initially thought that too, but I tested it with a page with one line of text on it, and the same problem - sometimes up to 20 seconds before the progress bar in the url begins moving. And that was at about 3.30am this morning, so it wasn't as if the network was busy.

I'm wondering what else comes into play with this?

    Thanks btw.
