    Input fields and information display?

Hi. Wasn't too sure how to word the title. Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm a bit unsure which coding language primarily deals with what I'm after or if it is multipul languages working together.

What I am attempting to do is have a input field where someone can put their information into it,(and if the information provided respects the parameters I set)it is then sent and displayed into a display field for everyone to see.

That's roughly what I would like to learn how to do, and rather quickly. Is this javascript or PHP(like from a forum?) I assume it works as in a series of fields are setup, and when the fields are filled, the information is sent to a ?? database of sorts? And then from there it is directed and displayed as ...

Sorry I really don't know how to word this. I want it to be in real time, and to also have the ability to delay all inputs so I can check them over if I feel I need to at some point.

I assume if I figure out how to create a way to allow someone to input information, then have that information displayed, then I can sub-categorize the information when it is being displayed(based off of the input fields categories).

Idk input fields to a database then something takes new information from that database, compiles it or whatever, and displays it elsewhere.

Sorry for my bad english. If you have any suggestions or information that'd be great If not, thanks for reading anyhow

This forum is not a free coding service. As a general rule, the people helping out in this forum don't write code for others, but try to help with fixing code that doesn't work. You may perhaps get someone to write this script for you, but you'll be far more likely to get help if you have made a substantial effort and written some code yourself. Then someone here will almost certainly help you correct/improve your work.

But you need server-side scripting for this - not Javascript. JavaScript running in a browser is a client-side language. JavaScript does not have any commands for reading or writing files. Modern browsers can read files on the server using an Ajax call, but otherwise JavaScript has no capability to read from, write to, modify or delete a file (except a cookie), communicate with the server, access a database, the client's operating system or the Windows registry, or alter the default behaviour of the browser.

Ah ok. Well I wasn't asking anyone to do this, unless you consider information to be in conflict of this forums primary policy. I was more wondering if I was looking in the right language. I am figuring it out on my own, but I was wondering if anyone knew which languages are best for implementing what I want.

Tbh, if you feel a bit hesitiant about sharing information, fair enough. I know moneys a bugger especially today. But in all fairness, it is really important when concepts and information are freely available.

pushes things along. But regardless, dont want to step on anyones toes if I am. I do appricate the info you've given, I reckon there's enough there to dwell into Thanks Philip
