    How to Send sms through free online services from PC

    Hi,

    My project simulation takes lot of time so I cant monitor that continuously,. I want to send a SMS whenever some simulation is done/ progress / throws an error to my mobile through SMS when I'm away from the PC..
    I dont know how to start with this.. pls tell me how to do this
    I want to use free online SMS service to do this..

    there are some REST sms gateways, but i think you'll likely need to pay money to use one with your script. Most of the free ones i've seen use captha to prevent automation. easier is to send an email to the phone, which requires knowing the carrier email prefix. for verision, this is 5551119999@vtext.com, virgin is 5551119999@vmoble.com, iphone and other att phones uses cingular: 5551119999@mobile.mycingular.com ...
    there are others as well, google is your ally.

    a dead simple php script can be ping from javascript using an img tag. you can easily fit the 140chars of data in a single get request url. all you need to do is encode the data and number to a querystring and ping php, which emails the phone as an sms message.
