    Image display Javascript code recommendation

    I need to display a set of photos in a limited space. After some online search, I haven't found a suitable Javascript code for the task. I would like to have something similar with the image slider on meetup.com. Basically, I would like to have an image index list and able to display an image in a large size.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance for your inputs.

    Self-contradiction???

    a set of photos in a limited space ...
    display an image in a large size.
    ??? which is it???

    Or you mean you want an image slider or some such and then clicking on one of them shows it large???

    Or do you mean an image menu with one large?

    I think I have an example of the latter created as a demo for someone on here...let me see...
    yeah, here:
    http://www.clearviewarts.com/fadeBigDemo.html

    If that's not it, can you be clearer?

    here is an example of one of my photo gallery builder's outputs: an embeddable iframe:

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    	<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    	<meta name="author" content="dandavis" />
    </head>
    <body>

    <iframe src="http://danml.com/pub/photos.htm?settings=({ title: 'Slides',author: 'dandavis',description: 'som obama pics',fade: true,showThumbs: true,auto: '10',showInfo: false });imgs=['http://3quarksdaily.blogs.com/3quarksdaily/images/obama.jpg','http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2008/11/19/gal_obama_01.jpg','http://blogs.trb.com/news/politics/blog/obama%2520with%2520mic%2520jan%252018%25202008.jpg','http://compassioninpolitics.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/obamarealdealradiospike.jpg?w=500&amp;h=333','http://images.politico.com/global/news/091024_obama_swine_223.jpg','http://images.publicradio.org/content/2008/05/20/20080520_obama_33.jpg','http://images.publicradio.org/content/2008/06/03/20080603_obama9_33.jpg','http://img.timeinc.net/time/daily/2007/0702/obama_iowa0223.jpg','http://kester.typepad.com/signs/images/obama_image.jpg','http://perinet.blogspirit.com/images/medium_obama.jpg','http://politicalkudzu.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/barack-5.jpg','http://sneakerboxx.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/barack-obama-is-superman.jpg','http://www.australia.to/story/Barack_Obama_2.jpg','http://www.dancewithshadows.com/celebrity/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/michelle-obama-8.jpg','http://www.ernietheattorney.net/ernie_the_attorney/images/barack_obama.jpg','http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2007/02/11/obama_wife_wideweb__470x368,0.jpg']"  frameborder='1' style='width: 700px; height:500px; position: relative;'>		your browser cannot display inline frames</iframe>

    the thumbnails on mine are on the top instead of the bottom, but it's very similar to the one you mentioned.

    the builder allows you to turn thumbnails on and off, among other options.

    here's a live example that doesn't use thumbnails: http://danml.com/pub/photosample1.htm

    Hmmm...didn't see any image slider on that site. Maybe chose a wrong group.

    Ehhh...image sliders, per se, are easy enough. Another example:
    Code:
    http://www.ClearviewArts.com
    Doesn't show a big image. Links to another page instead. But would be trivial to adapt it.

    I admit to being a bit of a luddite. I tend to write my own code. Seldom go out looking for solutions by others. Maybe I just like writing code too much.

    Ah, yes. Ehhh...not too hard to duplicate it. And should be able to do a better job; not have it jump all over the place because of a vertical image in the middle.

    Thanks everyone for your inputs.

    I have too much code to write from the back end to the front end. As a result, I like to use a library like package. Is a jQuery plugin for it?
