    javascript notification code !!

    hello,
i was using php notification like mail or @fopen to make the notification if any body installed my script or uploaded it to his host ,

but the both of mail and @fopen are so clear and appear so much in the code and anybody gonna remove them easily .

i already was asking in the php forum about better ways ,so i was wondering about if there are any better complex way for the notification with the JavaScript ???

    thanks

JavaScript is going to be even MORE open than PHP code.

For example, only way to send email from JS will cause a popup that asks user if it's okay to send the mail. Can't be suppressed.

Maybe best way is to keep one key component of the App ONLY on your site. In the use of the app, require that your site be invoked (e.g., to supply an image or maybe to return some AJAX data). And then you can try capturing the info about the page that makes that request of your site.

That makes the correct operation of their site dependent upon the availability of yours.
The best you can do is include within the notification code, something essential to the operation of the main app. It's never going to be totally un-hackable, but you should get at least one notification per site before anyone tries to do anything about it.

Well, I was assuming that he didn't *WANT* to let people use his code, at all.

Or maybe he wants them to license it to get rid of the dependency on the callback to his site??

If all he wants to do is keep track of who uses it, then I agree with 773.
