    jquery version problem with wordpress

    Hi

I am trying to install an overlay on a wordpress theme. The first step was to try it out on a test folder first to see if I can get it to work.

You can see it working properly at http://catrepellentguide.com/mms/

There you can see the tabs are animating, and the links are working.

    The problem

When I integrate this into wordpress I hit a problem because the wordpress uses a jquery file that is version v1.11.0 and the script on the above test URL is using jquery version v1.10.2

So when I tried integrating the script with wordpress, and it referenced the wordpress jquery file v 1.11.0 then the script stopped working i.e the tabs do not animate and the hyperlinks do not work.

So I guess my question is, does anybody know why the overlay would stop functioning as soon as it uses jquery 1.11.0?

    Thanks for any advice.

Read this sticky and make sure this isn’t applying to your issue.

    Hi Stephen

Yes, I believe I did comply with that advice.

The overlay script to be copied to the wordpress header had this line reference in jquery.

    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="../amazonoverlay/dealsoverlay/jquery-1.10.2.min.js"></script>
However I noticed that wordpress already has the following line in the head.

    Code:
    <script type='text/javascript' src='http://catrepellentguide.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.11.0'></script>
So, I removed the first piece of code quoted above before inserting the script into wordpress.

The result is the overlay appears, as per the link in my first post, however it fails to function properly, the links do not work and the animated tabs do not work.

have you tried putting ver 1.10.2 of jquery in your includes folder instead of 1.11.0?
