    JFrame or Tabbed Pane

I have a project due this week that requires me to build an application with 7 different tabs. I am just not sure how to go about it.

I can either create a tabbed pane and program each tab with its contents
    or
Should I create a J Frame and add tabs to it.

Which would be the more preferred method?

JTabbedPane is a component, but not a frame. Use both, put the JTabbedPane onto a JFrame. JFrame isn't designed to take tabbed items, and although simulating it certainly is doable its a lot more work than just creating a tabbed pane.
