Keeping a div in place even with scrolling (fine in FF, fails in IE)

I've managed to find a solution to this problem for Firefox, the problem being getting the sidebar div to stay still when scrolling without using frames.

You'll notice in firefox on my example page (http://www.bluewebdesign.co.uk/clien...asestudies.htm) the case studies area scrolls but the sidebar stays in place. Unfortunately this doesn't render in IE at all and everything scrolls.

Is there any way of getting the same result across both browsers without using frames and ideally through use of CSS as I've done to get it to work in Firefox.

    Thanks in advance,
    Edward

    look at those examples.

basically you give the html and body an overflow:hidden

there are some draw backs though. position:fixed doesnt work in IE 6. you use absolute positioning and IE "fixes" it. Can get a little buggy trying to get things where you need them cross browser.

    dont go insane
