    http://cit.ucsf.edu/embedmedia/step1.php I would suggest going with something more popular like WMP or Quicktime.

    Oh so kind of like how flash does it. Well I guess you would need to detect if RealPlayer was a plugin in the users browser, if not alert your message but I'm not sure how to do that. I say let the user use what they want, don't force them to use anything, thats bad when you site becomes in accessible.

    I consider Real Player to be spyware. I know it's not but they sure want to put a lot of garbage on your system to use it. So, if a site requires it, I don't visit the site anymore. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way. Why go through the hassle of installing it when media player and QT don't and two is enough.

    Thats not real player, thats windows media player. Just make the bullet but take off all of the buttons and set it as a background image.

    I understand what you mean but you can't change the appearance of the the buttons. Try something like this
    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    html, body {
    margin:0;
    padding:0;
    background:#333333;
    color:#FFFFFF;
    }
    #music {
    width:411px;
    height:300px;
    margin:20px auto;
    background:url(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/stockowl/rp1-2.gif) bottom no-repeat;
    }
    #music object {
    margin-left:42px;
    margin-top:7px;
    }
    </style>
    </head>

    <body>
    <div id="music">
    <object width="280" height="281"
          classid="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6"
          codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,701"
          standby="Loading Microsoft Windows Media Player components..." type="application/x-oleobject">
          <param name="url" value="VTS_01_1.wmv">
          <param name="uiMode" value="full">
          <param name="autoStart" value="true">
          <param name="loop" value="true">
          <embed type="application/x-mplayer2"
          pluginspage="http://microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/download/"

    What is your target audience? Meaning are your users using IE? Or are they using another type of browser? You can make custom buttons for play, stop, etc but only in Internet Explorer.

    Frankly I hate realplayer...if I see any sites using it, I leave. I've always found it slow, unreliable and plain irritating to use. My personal recommendation is to have video which is on the web in Windows Media Player format because this is going to reach the highest amount of users.

    The only cross browser solution was to do what I did, set the bullet as the background image then put the player over the bullet.
