    Bugged text-decoration

    Hi

    I think I found a bug where the anchor tag's underline does not show even if it is embedded with CSS on several layers above it and in the a tag itself. Has anyone seen this? I wasted 3 hours trying to fix it and finally solved it by putting the text-decoration: underline style into a header tag around the link's text.

    Francois

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    <div style="position: relative; top: -15px;">
    <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border"0"><tr><td style="border:1px solid #E6E6E6;padding:5px;background-color: #FFFAE1;">
    <div style="float: left;margin-bottom: 3px;"><a class="boxLink" href="/search-results.asp?r3=<%=region_3_id%>&r4=0&mnb=0&mxb=999&mnp=0&mxp=5001"><h1 style="text-decoration: underline;font: 11px/100% 'Lucida Grande', Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif;">View Villas in <%=strRegion3Name%></h1></a></div>
    <div style="float: left; position: relative; top: -7px;">
    <select style="width: 160px; height: 15px;" name="find_villa" class="browse_villa" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('parent',this,0)">
    <%=strNeighborsHTML%>
    </select></div><div style="float: left;margin-top: 3px;"><%=strBRHTML%></div></td></tr></table></div>

    a.boxLink{text-decoration:underline;}
    a.boxLink:link{text-decoration:underline;}
    a.boxLink:hover{text-decoration:underline;}
    a.boxLink:visited{text-decoration:underline;}
    a.boxLink:active{text-decoration:underline;}

    *** the first link's text in this code was bugged with no underline. ***

    Ouch, you like using inline CSS don't you?

    My guess would be that the bottom margin is set too small or padding is set wrongly etc. That can often cover up the underline.

    Edit: Haha... thought you were doing Rails with the <%= %> tags, but I didn't look at the .asp links...

    Anyway... yeah, man... seperate your style (CSS) from your structure(HTML)! That's way too much inline CSS. Any inline CSS is too much, actually (usually), but that's definitely way too much...

    Thanks for the info. Yeah I know it's a lot of inline but it was just an experiment so I was tweaking it within the same file.
