    can't seem to get this link to work

    hey. I'm embarrased to be asking this but i cant seem to figure out why this wont work.

    okay, here's the file online:
    w ww.enviromark.ca/english/prodInfo/Intempco/humidity/HTX.htm

    here's where the js file i cant seem to access is located:
    w ww.enviromark.ca/english/js/floatPrintOneLower.js

    so here's the code i have on the HTX page:
    Code:
    <div id="watermarklogo" class="notPrinted" style="position:absolute;"></div>
    <script src="../../../../js/floatPrintOneLower.js"></script>
    now this should be working but it isn't....

    i also tried <script src="../../../js/floatPrintOneLower.js"></script> with no luck

    any ideas?

    Absolute path:
    Code:
    <script src="http://www.enviromark.ca/english/js/floatPrintOneLower.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    If my math skills are working, ../../../ should work. Also, including the type attribute wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe the file isn't really there or has a slightly different name/pathname than you think on the server. Maybe the script itself is invalid.

    Some browsers don't like relative paths too.

    k this is really weird. even with the absolute link it still wont show up. its supposed to show a little print icon in the top righthand corner (just like here)
    http://www.enviromark.ca/english/pro...ane_Scales.htm

    here's the code i have for the page that it wont work on... i've put in the absolute link here but the ../... thing is the same as the link above, so it should be
    Code:
    <div id="watermarklogo" class="notPrinted" style="position:absolute;"></div>
    <script src="../../../js/floatPrint.js"></script>
    (when not absolute)

    here's the code, try it out for yourselves :/
    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

    It is this line in the stylesheet for the page (http://www.enviromark.ca/english/prodInfo/Intempco/images/intempco.css):
    Code:
    .notPrinted { display: none; }
    Remove it and put this on the page itself (in the head):
    Code:
    <style type="text/css" media="print">
    .notPrinted { display: none; }
    </style>
    Then, as long as you have the path to the script right:
    Code:
    <script src="../../../js/floatPrint.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    it will work. Also, you are missing:
    Code:
    <html><head>
    which, of course, should follow the doctype.

    Unless you changed something since the links you gave out prior to my previous post in this thread, that post has the answer. It was rigorously tested.
