    line that appears between images in netscape

    I have a site that looks good in IE.
    In netscape for some reason between 2 images there is a white line.

    Can someone help me figure out what is causing the line in netscape (but not ie)

    page is http://www.beismoshiach770.com/

    Thanks.

    Your code is apalling - the first tag is a <div>, and there aren't even any <html>/<head>/<body> tags, never mind a DTD. Sort that out I'll be prepared to have a look, but with code that bad, it's not even worth checking through...

    Whitespace bug

    It could be the infamous Netscape whitespace bug.
    I had a quick google for you and found this;
    http://lists.evolt.org/archive/Week-...05/102167.html

    No point me repeating it at length here, but I think that could solve your problem.

    If you have no luck with that, try doing a search for 'Netscape whitespace bug', and a stack of articles should come up.

    Also, as Ollie said, you really need to get a DOCTYPE declaration in your document, and also the opening head, title and html tags at the start of your code, otherwise you are just leaving browsers guessing how to render your page.

    On the surface though, nice clean looking site - just keep an eye on what Dreamweaver's doing to it 'under the hood'

    Kind Regards,

    Gary

    I fixed the things you mentioned.

    I got rid of the spacing by the td but it didn't help. - any other ideas?
    There are also 3 images on the page that are being displayed by i.e. but not netscape?!?

    er...

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2 Final//EN">
    is a worthless and relativley un-used Document Type nowadays.

    How about

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    which would be a better choice and still allows tables...

    BTW..there is no character encoding.

    Jamie.

    I changed this but I still have problems.

    There is a line between 2 graphics plus some of the images don't show up. (and they are all in the same directory and all show on i.e.)

    what am I doing wrong?
