    Launching exe's from the browser

Hi all, I work on a mac and need to do this on a pc. I have a site running locally on the pc and I need the hyperlinks to launch exe's on the machiene. I need to launch things like word, excel and powerpoint.

How would I setup the link to do this? Would I just put the path of the exe in the a link.

Any help would be most welcomed.

    Thanks

If you happen to know the path to the apps, a normal link will prompt and warn the user a couple of times, and allow them to choose whether or not to open each.

Otherwise, this may be done from a trusted application (HTA), which calls a method from a system automation object, or from IE via a signed activeX control, which invokes system methods.
