    Hi,

    I have an image imbedded to theleft of my text in Firefox padding words as intended but not in IE6, oh no. any tips as to what I have missed?

    html
    Code:

    <div id="text">

    <p><img id="mainpicture" name="altimg" src="images/outside.jpg" border="0" title="provided by www.thechrissystem.com" alt="image supplied by www.thechrissystem.com">Tara Guest House is renowned, in Bangor and beyond, for it's relaxed atmosphere and unrivalled hospitality. Tara Guest House has been welcoming tourists and commercial traveller's since 1990. Close to the Bangor Marina and only ten minutes walk into central Bangor, it is ideally situated for the shopper and socialite.
    </p><p>
    css
    Code:
    #text {
    float : left;
    clear : right;
    font-family : "comis sans ms", sans-serif, arial, helvetica;
    font-size : smaller;
    color : #40364A;
    width : 50%;
    text-align : justify;
    background-color : #ffffe5;
    padding : 10px;
    border : 0;
    }

    #mainpicture {
    float : left;
    height : 200px;
    width : 300px;
    padding : 25px;
    }

    Why do some people say "I don't know for sure"? If they don't know for sure then, they don't know!

    Oops I'm a numptie :(

    Thought the margin attribute wouldn't do it but it does. I'll never get the hang of this box model thing.

    Could it also be IE6 quirks mode?

    Padded bordered div around images...

    I just read this in another post, maybe it'll help...

    nope :)

    I use a strict 1.1 doctype. I have it sorted now coz I used the margin attribute which I had thought wouldnt do it.

    Thanks
